Welcome to the seventeenth edition of my Supporting Small Businesses series. Today I would like to introduce you to a company whose products I have had my eye on for some years now – William Hannah Limited.
William Hannah notebooks are handmade with a tactile leather cover, suede lining and an engineered stainless steel mechanism complete with stainless steel discs. The disc system means the pages can be swapped around or replaced, it’s really up to the individual user. It’s a very versatile and useful system. Each notebook comes with 60 sheets of 115gsm paper and you can choose from plain, lined, dotted, grid or mix & match your favourites. You can pick from A5 or A6 size, or you can choose a pocket notebook cover (but those aren’t disc bound).
I have wanted a William Hannah notebook for years, so when my parents offered to get me one for Christmas I jumped at the chance! I headed straight to the William Hannah website to pick my notebook.
It took me quite a while to make up my mind as to which combination of colours to get. They have a number of available off-the-shelf combinations or there is the option to choose a bespoke combination. After a lot of deliberation, I decided on bespoke, but even then I went through several combinations before I finally settled on one.
I chose Red Chilli leather with Kingfisher cover stitching, Kingfisher suede lining with Red Chilli lining stitching. I also chose to get the notebook monogrammed and filled with lined paper.
To my order, I added a pack of A5 plain paper, a pack of A5 Contacts pages and a pack of 5 A6 dividers (you can choose which colours you want). Did you notice the mistake there? I didn’t! Yes, I accidentally chose A6 dividers instead of A5 dividers. What an idiot! However, William Hannah has such excellent customer service that they realised I might not have meant to choose the A6 dividers and so included a set of A5 dividers in the order alongside the A6 dividers. What fantastic customer service and attention to detail!
Due to ordering just a week before Christmas, the company understandably couldn’t guarantee delivery before the big day for bespoke orders, but they promised it would be dispatched before Christmas. I was happy enough with that, so I was utterly delighted when the order turned up a couple of days before Christmas! Without peeking, I handed it to Mum ready for Christmas Day.
The notebook arrived packaged in a lovely black box with William Hannah’s logo on it. Opening the box revealed my beautiful William Hannah notebook wrapped in William Hannah branded tissue paper (I keep wrapping it back up in this tissue paper to keep it safe!). The box also included the order slip (including a thank you note and a message about the dividers!), a Because Writing Helps postcard, a little booklet (about caring for the notebook and how to use it), the extra paper and pages I had ordered, both A5 and A6 dividers (Thank you William Hannah!) and a surprise package of sample pages. Oh, and not forgetting that wonderful smell of leather!
I was so impressed! The fantastic customer service, the attention to detail and such a quality product too. The leather and suede both feel so soft. The paper is smooth and fountain pen friendly, which is ideal for my needs. The notebook is perfect!
I would also like to recommend the William Hannah Daily Posts. David Round, the brains behind the company, shares Daily Inspiration posts. Each post, whilst providing inspiration, also shows off the William Hannah notebooks. I think it’s a nice little touch.
This is one of those products which will last a lifetime, but I have no doubt that just one won’t be enough!

Please note: I was given this product as a Christmas present and I am in no way affiliated with William Hannah Limited.
…stylish!
Gosh, if only I wrote things down, instead of typing them into a computer.
I still write with a pencil and paper before typing onto a computer and really enjoy it, particularly when using a William Hannah notebook.
What a gorgeous notebook cover! I love that you can personalize it down to the color of the stitching. You made lovely choices!
I’m not in any need of a new cover right now, so I’m going to hold firm and not get one of these!! (but it’s so tempting…)
You can never have too many notebooks! 😀
Your notebook is a work of art. Love the red cover and all the types of pages.
What a beautiful notebook, Nikki. The colours and stitching you chose is gorgeous.
What a clever system it is too, and impeccable customer service if they noticed your mistake. xxx
It’s a beautiful notebook, Nikki. What attention to detail!
Am a massive fan myself with my last A5 being a custom order too Superb quality books. I like supporting a U.K. maker as well. Been enjoying these since 2018.
Enjoy it and I’m looking for the next one! Haha.
A beautiful notebook, stylish indeed!
It’s beautiful. I’d be nervous about despoiling it with my horrible scrawl!
Wow! What a beautiful gift, you must have been so pleased to open this on Christmas morning!
I must admit that I was a little stunned by their prices, but they do look amazing. Are you going to be keeping this for your own special use as a diary perhaps, or is it something you are going to use on a daily basis for making notes?
Did you spot the matching pen bands and bookmarks too, just so that you can keep everything together.
Definitely a site I shall be bookmarking and I already know my favourite colour combination.
Well worth the share and a lovely post. I hope that your Christmas was good and I wish you and yours nothing but good things for 2022! 🙂
I’ve got a Hobonichi Techo which I use as my diary. This will be for various notes, including blog posts. I’ll also use it as an address book as I added a set of contact pages.
Yes, I did spot the pen bands and bookmarks.
Which is your favourite colour combination?
Happy New Year!
I might be a bit boring, but I really like the standard black and crimson option.
I did check out the Hobonichi Techo range, but I must admit that I still prefer the William Hannah range!
Happy writing! 🙂
I am loving the leather cover and beautiful color of the notebook and how you can easily add paper and page dividers to this! <3
This notebook looks lovely! I love the attention to detail, you can tell there’s a lot of love put into making them. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos, I’ll definitely be checking them out. Enjoy your new notebook!
That is a nice notebook. Very classy.
Fab present, Nikki! A little touch of luxury. Happy New Year, hon!
Gorgeous. I love the colours you chose. A purchase like this is an investment, it’s something which is going to last you a lifetime so worth paying a little extra.
These look so beautifully made — I think anyone would feel special having one of these!
Ooooo how cool do these look!! I’d never even heard of William Hannah as a brand before but they really do make what look like top-quality products that have a very special feel to them. I looooove the notebooks with their the solid binders, professional exterior & personalised touch with your initials. The dividers are also the fanciest ones I’ve ever seen. I use cheap cardboard ones that get tatty in about 5 minutes. Great review! 🙂
So cute!
They look lovely. I have the urge to touch and feel the leather.
What a gorgeous notebook! Such a simple design but so stylish and you can see just how good the quality is from the photos. Never heard of this brand before but will definitely be checking them out in the future.
Beautiful note book, but I would never take it out of the box, I would be frighten to death of spoiling it and wasting all that money.
It looks like a very stylish product but something like that would be lost on me – I just use cheap notebooks from Asda which I can rip pages out of as and when I need to.
