In February, I’m going to take part in InCoWriMo (International Correspondence Writing Month). So what is InCoWriMo? Well, it’s a challenge to write and mail or hand-deliver one letter, card, note or postcard every day during the month of February.
In an age where social media and email rules correspondence, there’s nothing quite like receiving a personal letter, card, note or postcard via snail mail. I love snail-mail and I think my only challenge will be working out who to send things to! I have a couple of penpals, there’s a friend’s birthday and if I visit any places of interest I’ll be sure to pick up some postcards to send.
So if I’m still struggling, who else could I send a letter or postcard to?
Postcrossing – Postcrossing is a project which allows you to send and receive postcards from random people across the world. For every postcard you send to someone, you’ll get one back from somebody else. It’s wonderful as you don’t know where you’ll get a postcard from next.
More Love Letters – This is a project to write and mail letters to strangers all over the world. People nominate someone in need of a love letter bundle, the MLL team pick stories that resonate and then you get the chance to write a letter and mail it in.
Letter Writers Alliance – Join the LWA! The Letter Writers Alliance is a member-based organisation dedicated to keeping letter writing alive. Why not join and request a penpal?
The InCoWriMo website also has a list of 28 people who would love to receive letters (including British Royalty and a best-selling author!).
I’m a member of a penpal group on Facebook, so I may submit a post there asking if anyone would like a letter as part of InCoWriMo.
Other ideas are to send a letter to a long lost friend or family member and reconnect with them via snail mail or even just jot down a note for a friend.
Don’t forget it’s St Valentine’s Day in February, so you could send a certain someone a Valentine’s Card!

Will you be joining in with InCoWriMo? Would you like to be added to my list of people to send a letter or card to during InCoWriMo?
