Stationery Sunday: Personalised Stationery

Stationery Sunday: Personalised Stationery

A lazy Sunday afternoon is the perfect time to sit down with a notebook and pen to do some writing, be it journaling, blog post writing or just general notes. Hmmm… A mug of hot chocolate (dairy-free for me!) wouldn’t go amiss either! Thankfully, Ryman has kindly supplied me with a notebook, pen and mug in return for an honest review, so I’ve got everything I need for my lazy Sunday afternoon.

The Personalised by Ryman range has a great variety of stationery and gifts perfect for personalisation. Whether you’re personalising something as a gift or buying something for yourself and making the statement “THIS IS MINE!”, there’s plenty to choose from.

Parker Jotter Ballpoint Pen - Violet

It’s National Ballpoint Pen Day today, so what better a pen to show you than the Parker Jotter ballpoint pen! The Parker Pen Company is a big name in the pen world and even has royal warrants from The Queen and the Prince of Wales, so you know you’re getting a quality pen with this one. I chose to get the Parker Jotter in Violet as I’m a big fan of anything remotely purple.

The Parker Jotter Ballpoint Pen features a retractable medium point nib, comes with blue ink (refillable with Parker QuinkFlow Ballpoint refills) and is supplied in a Parker gift box. The Parker Jotter is a solid pen with a nice weight and it writes beautifully. It’s the perfect pen for everyday use.

Ryman now offer laser engraving, so you can have your name or any other text (up to 15 characters) engraved onto the barrel of the pen.

Obviously, if you’ve got a pen you then need something to write in or on… This is where the Ryman Personalised Soft Cover Medium Notebook comes in handy. It’s a slightly odd size being 5mm taller and 13mm narrower than A5, but its soft cover ensures that it feels great.

The notebook cover can be personalised with copper foil (up to a maximum of 20 characters) making it a unique gift or even a treat to yourself! Whilst it is called a “soft cover” notebook, it’s actually a hardback cover, it’s just that the material used has a soft feel to it.

The notebook features lined, ivory paper inside, along with a bookmark ribbon, an elasticated pen loop and a handy fold-flat pocket on the inside cover. An elasticated band holds the notebook closed, perfect for when it’s carried about inside a bag.

It’s a good, decent notebook with quality paper – perfect for journaling or simply taking notes. It’s available in 4 different colours, but of course, I had to choose purple.

However, before you sit down with a good notebook and pen, you need to make yourself a cuppa…

Lovely set – I am fond of paper and pen. Yes I write online but I keep a magnet pad on the fridge and have pads for lists by my computer. Make a list and stick it in my pocket. Off I go!

  2. I’m with Carol about the making of copious lists, in fact I may be considered a little OCD about them!

By coincidence, hubbie was searching around for a personalised notebook and pen last weekend, for a colleagues birthday bag, but we had no idea that Ryman’s supplied that kind of thing – We could have done with your post back then! As it was he managed to personalise a much lesser quality brand, by adding some pictures of the birthday girl to the cover and I have to admit that it did look good.

I have a SIL and two nieces who love the colour purple, so they would have gone mad for your book and pen set 🙂

I love everything you’ve shared here! I’ve always liked purple, but must see what the other three colors are.

Thanks to you, I have plenty of notebooks at the moment (oh how I love Field Notes!), but this one sure tempts me. I really like the personalized pen and mug, too.

National Ballpoint Pen Day, I can’t imagine that can compete with a smartphone or tablet but I love the optimism. It’s heartwarming to see you still use pen and a physical journal, just looking at your photos makes me want to write something.

There’s nothing better than a handwritten letter or journal written in your favorite pen! Such a personal choice and of course everyone has their own requirements. I love this!

I’m so keen on personalized items and these look great. I like that pen a lot, I’m going to have a look at their website for details. x

Hi Nikki, that is a lovely gift set. Purple is a colour I love too, but it’s the mug that caught my eye ( I have a thing for mugs), nothing like a splash of colour to brighten the day.

I love them all. The notebook is my favourite though. I remember having things personalised a lot as a kid, but I don’t think I have as an adult really.. and I kind of miss it. These all look grownup and stylish.

I always felt really fancy when I got to use a parker pen in school and I’m sure it’d feel the same now! Love the purple, and the note book too!

Parker pens. Ah yes, with that arrow pingy bit. Always reliable. You’ve collected a great set of pieces, mug, pen, pad to sit down and muse in a most cheery way.
