I’ve begun a quest to find some tasty dairy-free “milk” chocolate… Something which tastes similar to proper milk chocolate (like Cadburys or Milka). I’ve yet to find any, but who knows, maybe it’s out there?
Anyway, what I did find was this small box of chocolatey goodness. Booja Booja Hazelnut Chocolate Truffles are organic, dairy-free, gluten-free and soya-free, so one would assume taste free… So wrong. Booja Booja Hazelnut Chocolate Truffles are simply divine! The more of them I eat the more I fall in love with them!
You must understand, I’m a big lover of chocolate (who isn’t?), but being lactose-free means it’s generally a no-go area. Free-from chocolate generally tastes horrid or, at least, the stuff I’ve come across does. So, when I picked up this small box of Booja Booja Hazelnut Chocolate Truffles for £6.99 in a local health food shop, I was taking a bit of a risk. I say a bit of a risk because I’ve tasted Booja Booja’s dairy-free ice cream before and that was pretty tasty too.
Yes, the price is a little steep for a small box of 9 chocolates, but they really are worth it, because, as my favourite boyband once sang, I found heaven. These chocolates really are tasty. The hazelnut truffle is smooth with tiny pieces of hazelnut inside and you get a lovely velvety, chocolate hit.
Booja Booja Hazelnut Chocolate Truffles are now my favourite chocolates, but I need to check out the rest of their range, especially their special edition Truffles Selection No. 2.
So now if anyone would like to buy me a gift, they know what to get me! (Hint, hint!).
