Books2Door – Review

Books2Door – Review

When Books2Door contacted me about reviewing their service, it didn’t take long for me to take them up on their offer. I was given a £30 voucher code and free-reign on what I ordered.

Books2Door have been selling kids books at affordable prices since 2004. I hadn’t heard of them before, but their Trustpilot rating of 4.9 out of 5 based on over 5,350 reviews gave me confidence that this company provides a great service.

The Books2Door website is bright, bold and very easy to navigate. There are big graphics highlighting the popular books, but it’s easy to browse or find the books you’re after.

Books2Door provide a large range of books for children, from baby to young adult. The young adult books are suitable reading material for adults too, with authors such as Ann Cleeves, Peter May, Ben Aaronovitch and Terry Pratchett to name but a few. They also have plenty of sets available, so you can buy a trilogy or whole series at once if you like.

I decided to choose my books based on the fact that we’re currently in lockdown and who knows when that will end. I wanted books to keep me entertained and inspired for the duration.

Rangoli colouring book cover

The first book I chose was Rangoli: Stress-Relieving, Art Therapy, Adult Colouring Book. At £3 I thought it was a bargain, plus with all the awful news at the moment, I thought it would be relaxing and therapeutic.

The Humans bu Matt Haig The Radleys by Matt Haig Reasons To Stay Alive by Matt Haig

My second choice was a set of three books by Matt Haig: The Humans, The Radleys and Reasons To Stay Alive. I thought that last book title was perfect considering that’s what everyone’s trying to do at this very moment… stay alive! £12.99 for the set, so not bad at £4.33 per book.

Journeys of a Lifetime book

My final choice was the most expensive of my choices (£14.99), but I love a good hardback book. I chose National Geographic Journeys of a Lifetime: 500 of the World’s Greatest Trips because after having to stay at home for months and months, I’m going to need some travel inspiration for when we are free!

Ordering from Books2Door was simple and trouble-free. My order was dispatched the next day and arrived two days later. Delivery is free for orders over £30 or £2.49 for standard delivery (3-5 working days) if your order is under £30.

All in all, I was very pleased with the service Books2Door provides. There are plenty of books to choose from and my order arrived swiftly and well packaged. I’ll certainly be ordering from them again!

Please note: Books2Door supplied a £30 voucher code in return for an honest review, but this has in no way influenced my opinion.

This sounds like a great service and you picked some wonderful looking titles. National Geographic publications always have beautiful photos.

  2. Hi Nikki,

This sounds like an excellent idea, although like most online delivery sites right now, it looks as though they are having trouble coping with the high demand!

Matt Haig isn’t an author I have come across before, although I like the sound of some of his books and his Goodreads ratings and reviews are amazing!

I find that the line between YA and adult books, is very blurred, with cross reading between the age groups being quite normal these days.

Colouring books are something I have never got into, although I don’t know why, as I quite enjoy solitary hobbies. Mind you, I have quite a stash of wool, puzzles and books to keep me going for some time yet, so all is good!

I hope that you are all keeping safe and well 🙂

What a terrific service! Especially these days, when we can’t go out to shop at bookstores. My mom is living in a senior community right now, which of course has cancelled all their activities. Luckily, she is able to amuse herself with puzzles, books and coloring books. She says she enjoys coloring now more than she did as a child!

I found this such a refreshing post, Nikki. Thank you for sharing, as I so enjoy reading, and love recommendations for something different, both books and supplier

This is a very good service for parents trying to bring more diversity into their children’s schedule. The prices for these books are really good too.

Books2Door sounds like an amazing idea, especially at the moment when a lot of us are at home all day. I especially love that they do colouring books, that is always such a calming and therapeutic activity. Thanks for sharing your review Nikki! <3 xx

I think I’d like both the National Geographic book and adult coloring book, what a nice service. I think any book targeted for any age is suitable for adults to read.

With the exception of garden books, I get virtually all my books via Kindle now. As a resident of the US, I expect I’m not the target market for this company in any case but I appreciate you reacquainting me with Matt Haig. I read his “How to Stop Time” a couple of years ago and for whatever reason failed to explore his other offerings as I usually do with authors I like. I’ve added a couple of them to my “to read” list now so thanks! As an aside, I’m very impressed that you got Sugar to pose so prettily on that shelf. My Pipig is never that cooperative.
