Snapshot: Dusk

Snapshot: Dusk

Last night, we had such a beautiful dusk after the sun had gone down, so I thought I’d share it with you.

The nights are drawing in now and I’ll soon be driving home from work in the dark (I hate that!), but in the mean time we’re given some beautiful sunsets and skies at dusk.

Hello Niki, I do love your photos. I sometimes see skies like that when I drive home to Somerset from Hampshire ā€“ the trouble is Iā€™m always on the A303 (which is manically busy) and never get the chance to stop and photograph them. Thank you for sharing yours.
By the way I also hate driving in the dark and always try to get home just before the sun goes down!

  2. Hi Nikki,

I can’t say that I am a huge fan of night time driving and I do tend to take extra care and attention.

There have been some spectacular sunsets in Somerset recently, although as Barbara points out, they are always at their best at the most inconvenient of moments, when you just can’t capture those amazing shots, in the way that you have.

As we live right on the Wiltshire / Somerset border and only about 5 miles from Longleat, if we can anticipate a good sunset, we try to get up to ‘Heaven’s Gate’ on the Longleat estate, where the views are stupendous and they have a ‘Stargate’ like sculpture, which makes an excellent frame for that picture perfect shot.

    Thanks for sharing šŸ™‚
